I’m excited to announce I have a chapter in an awesome forthcoming book about building a career beyond academia by using your whole self.
In Succeeding Outside the Academy: Career Paths beyond the Humanities, Social Sciences, and STEM, edited by Kelly Baker and Joe Fruscione. Lawrence: University Press of Kansas, 2018.
The majority of PhDs work off the tenure track, either in other positions within universities or beyond academia altogether. In this contribution to the book Succeeding Outside of the Academy, Cathy Hannabach shares her story of how she ran, walked, and danced toward herself as she moved from college professor to founder and CEO of Ideas on Fire. In the process, she discovered that building a life and a world beyond the academy means using your whole self.
