Work with Cathy
Leading ideas into publication, together
Publishing support for authors
Cathy works with scholars through Ideas on Fire to develop, refine, and bring complex research into publication.
Since 2009, she has led projects spanning first books, journal articles, open access book series, and interdisciplinary collaborations, helping authors strengthen their arguments, navigate peer review, and position their work for meaningful impact.
This is hands-on, high-level editorial partnership designed for scholars who want their work to move clearly and confidently into the world.

Institutional partnerships
Cathy collaborates with university departments, research institutes, scholarly journals, and nonprofit organizations to support groups of scholars and large-scale publishing initiatives.
Through Ideas on Fire, she leads tailored partnerships that may include editorial support, project management for book series and journals, workshop series, and cohort-based publishing guidance.
These partnerships are designed to extend institutional capacity—supporting faculty, fellows, and researchers while strengthening the clarity and reach of their work.

She built and leads the Ideas on Fire Editorial Professional Development Series, as well as built and led the LGBTQ+ Editors Association Mentorship Program, designing large-scale initiatives that strengthen editorial practice and leadership across the field.
