I have a new article up on Ideas on Fire about finding non-academic career mentors, whether you are building a career within or beyond the academy.

I know the value of an awesome mentor. Mentors provide camaraderie, dispense expert advice, and serve as role models as you build your life and careers. Academia does a pretty good job of providing formal avenues to build your academic mentorship network, but what about non-academic mentors? How do you build the mentoring networks you need for diverse careers?
